Laura's Spicy Hummus

I have a big obsession with hummus and I always make it anytime people come over or just for me to munch on :)

This hummus is super healthy and only takes 2 minutes to whip up. If you're not a fan of spicy foods, you can eliminate the cayenne chilli pepper from the recipe.

1 x 400g tin of chickpeas
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 tbsp tahini paste
2 tbsp olive oil
2 level tsp ground cumin
1 level tsp cayenne chilli pepper
juice of 1/2 - 1 lemon

Its as simple as this. Whiz the chickpeas, garlic, tahini, olive oil, cumin and cayenne chilli pepper in a blender. Add the juice of half a lemon and whizz again. Taste and check the consistency. Add a little more lemon juice and/or olive oil and whizz until you get a nice smooth consistency. The amount of lemon juice you add really depends on how juicy or how big the lemon is you are using. Make sure to taste the hummus and add more or less as you like. Serve with some toasted pitta, nachos,  red pepper or whatever you feel like!
